Purdue University’s Food Science Department prides itself on preparing students for careers in the food industry. Skidmore Sales is excited to help make those students’ experience even stronger.
A recent donation to the Purdue Food Science Department will establish the Skidmore Sales and Distributing Food Product Development Laboratory. This new laboratory will enable Purdue food science students to experience the process of product development in a facility they would find in leading food corporations.
The new 820 square foot laboratory will be used for undergraduate and graduate coursework including a capstone/senior design class. It will also host competitions for ingredient utilization. We believe this facility will be a tremendous resource for new product development by students, faculty, and staff.
Our CEO, Doug Skidmore, said, “We are very excited to support the new laboratory. At Skidmore, our team of food science professionals help our customers develop new products, so we know the challenges they face. Product development experience is crucial for success in today’s market.”
