As a leading manufacturer and worldwide marketer of maltodextrins and starches, Grain Processing Corporation (GPC) has always kept close watch on the trends within the food, nutraceutical and personal care markets. As a result of this ongoing scrutiny, they recognized a need to create an Identity Preserved (IP) program for their non GMO MALTRIN® and starch lines.
The need for an IP ingredient option was necessary for many of their global customers as the European Union (EU) enacted non GMO regulations. Rolled out nearly 15 years ago at their Muscatine, Iowa facility, Grain Processing Corporation successfully pioneered one of the first, and most robust IP programs in the industry. As a result, GPC was able to supply a product that met the needs of the EU and other global customers without compromising on the functionality, quality and dependability of their traditional ingredients. In response to continued growth, GPC has increased the availability of this product line with the expansion of their second location in Washington, Indiana.
Grain Processing Corporation’s line of specialty carbohydrates continues to evolve and expand to meet the changing requirements of their customers. Over time, their well-established IP program has created strong relationships with local growers and given GPC unsurpassed knowledge in operations and quality. Due to this experience, along with a careful evaluation of the certification options available in the US, GPC is now pursuing USDA Process Verification for their IP/ non GMO program in Washington, Indiana. They are excited to provide this option for their IP certified products in anticipation of the new Federal labeling laws that will be enacted within the next 2 years.
