With a twinkle in his eye and a grin on his face, Skidmore’s new CIO, Sandy Piscitello, approaches every challenge as an opportunity to make a difference. “It is important to do things well. When you get to where I am in a career, it’s not about the money. Thanks to direct deposit, you don’t see it anyway!” he teases.
When you sit down with Sandy, it doesn’t take long for him to tell you what does drive him. “What gets me out of bed every morning is the opportunity for me to drive Skidmore’s IT program to be best-in-class. In the coming years. Technology done right will differentiate Skidmore. I want us to utilize the best technologies to consistently provide solutions to our customers (internal and external) and suppliers that they can’t get anywhere else -and at a rate they’ve never seen before!”
We believe Sandy is the right man for the job! Joining Skidmore in November 2018, Sandy is a graduate of the Ohio State University’s Computer and Information Science program. He has spent his career leading both Fortune 50 and small growth organizations to demonstrated success. These include Merck & Co., Procter & Gamble, and Triplefin.
But he didn’t always want to be an IT professional. “What would surprise a lot of people is that I love to sing and perform. I always have. I remember being 5 years old and performing for guests at my dad’s company picnic. My senior year, I was the musical lead as Curley in my high school’s production of Oklahoma!. In fact, when I entered college, I wanted to major in theater. It was my dad who convinced me to choose computer science instead!” In his free time, Sandy has been active in his community theater, a barbershop quartet, and he’s been known as an impressive karaoke singer as well!
Sandy joins Skidmore at a very exciting time. Over the past couple of years, we have expanded our operations, office space, and grown our staff to better serve our customers. We are thrilled to have him on the team, and look forward to the transformation of our IT platform under Sandy’s leadership.
