Recently, Ohly announced the transfer of their plant in Hutchinson, Minnesota, to Lallemand as part of a long-term strategic partnership.
Lallemand is a privately owned Canadian group specializing in researching, developing, producing, marketing, and distributing yeast and bacteria for food ingredients.
As explained in a recent article, the transfer of the Hutchinson site allows Ohly to increase its focus on its core areas—yeast extract specialties and PRODRY® culinary powders.
The same article explains that “The divestiture to a strategic investor like Lallemand also serves two additional goals for Ohly – job security for the Hutchinson team and supply security for Ohly in the form of yeast cream, which we extract in our site in Boyceville.”
