We are living through an unprecedented time in history. Each day brings news of the challenges, struggles and sorrow that the COVID-19 pandemic has spread around the globe. It has changed how we do business, what we do in our free time, it has changed our way of life.
Our hearts go out to everyone who has been impacted by the virus, especially those who are currently sick. We wish them a quick and full recovery. We are inspired by healthcare workers who tirelessly work the frontlines to care for ailing patients, as well as our peers in the food industry who are working around the clock to make sure we can provide an uninterrupted supply of food as this global emergency unfolds.
While we are still in the midst of this crisis, and unsure of what changes may come next; we wanted to reach out to our customers, suppliers and esteemed colleagues to reassure you of something that will not change: Skidmore’s commitment to being the best partner we can be to each of you.
We are open for business and here for you; although like all businesses we are adjusting our business to meet these changing times
All employees who could work remotely have been encouraged to do so. As of today, most of our office staff now is working from home offices, and the transition has gone smoothly. They are utilizing several digital channels to continue to assist you any way they can. We are happy to facilitate video conferencing and other virtual events that allow us to continue to collaborate with customers and suppliers.
Many states including Ohio are now under a “Shelter In Place,” order from their state regulators. As part of these orders, food manufacturers and suppliers are considered essential operations and are permitted to continue to conduct business.; and our employees who perform critical positions continue to report to our facilities.
To ensure the safety of those employees who report, we have increased the frequency of our cleaning and sanitation efforts in high-traffic areas, have trained all employees according to CDC guidelines, and have limited access to our facilities to only essential visitors.
Our warehouse and blending teams are fully staffed and are diligently working to fulfill your orders and provide support to you as we navigate this crisis.
We are working closely with all of our suppliers to ensure an uninterrupted supply chain by holding increased inventories to support our customers during this time. We have not experienced any disruptions to date, and don’t anticipate any. That said we ask all customers to review their requirements and to let us know promptly of any unusual changes to their demand. By working closely together, it is our aim to remain a valued partner and assist your business in these difficult times.
Our Vice President of Operations along with our Vice President of Sales and Marketing recently penned a letter to all our customers and suppliers, which outlines our efforts. See the letter here.
We will continue to provide updates as events unfold. Please check our website for the latest information: https://skidmoresales.com/resources/news/
