For over half a century, Skidmore Sales & Distributing has been one of the leading distributors of ingredients for food processors and manufacturers in the United States. Skidmore Sales is a second-generation, family-owned business that has earned the respect of both customers and suppliers through superior service. We strive to be the leading distributor in the nation so that we can help our customers and suppliers succeed.
Back in 1963, when Skidmore Sales began, it took up a 16,000 square foot facility in Cincinnati, Ohio, which represented three primary suppliers: Central Soya, Archer Daniels Midland Company, and Basic Vegetable Products. Today, we have grown to a supplier list of over over 200 of the top food ingredient manufacturers and continue to grow. We pride ourselves on being a family-owned business, but our mission is to continue growing for the benefit of our customers and suppliers.
We have stayed true to our roots with our current Skidmore Headquarters being located just outside of the Cincinnati city limits but have grown exponentially. We now have 23 different warehouses spread out across the United States, from California to New Jersey.
Since 1963, Skidmore Sales has been a staple of the food distribution industry, currently handling over 5,000 ingredients from hundreds of suppliers. Each year, we handle over 30,000 shipments in an effort to provide our customers and suppliers with the best experience possible. We primarily cover the east coast, with 15 of our 23 facilities are east of the Mississippi river, but we serve customers in 35 states through this network of elite facilities.
Our SQF Level II Certified facility in West Chester, Ohio is one of our premier facilities, encompassing nearly 300,000 square feet and featuring two large refrigerated storage rooms, multiple spice rooms, and four state-of-the-art packaging and blending rooms.
